I've been dealing with loose motion for the past two days and even vomited once. I started drinking lemon water and ORS and it really helped. But now I'm feeling a lot of acidity this morning. What do you suggest I do to get rid of this acidity?

Overdose Alert

Consuming 30 Zandu Parad tablets (containing mercury) and 10 paracetamol tablets can lead to severe health complications.

Immediate Action Required

  1. Seek medical attention: Rush to the nearest hospital or poison control center.
  2. Inform doctors: Share the details of the overdose, including the number of tablets consumed.
  3. Treatment: Doctors may administer activated charcoal, gastric lavage, or other treatments to reduce mercury and paracetamol absorption.

Potential Consequences

  1. Mercury poisoning: Damage to kidneys, brain, and nervous system.
  2. Paracetamol toxicity: Liver damage or failure.
  3. Gastrointestinal symptoms: Nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.
  4. Cardiovascular issues: Abnormal heart rhythms, low blood pressure.
  5. Neurological problems: Tremors, seizures, confusion, and coma.

Prevention is key

To avoid such situations in the future:

  1. Always follow dosage instructions.
  2. Consult a doctor before taking any medication.
  3. Keep medications out of reach of children and pets.

I've been experiencing a burning sensation in my food pipe for a few days now. My doctor advised me to get an endoscopy, and it turns out I have an H. pylori infection and some erosions. The doctor prescribed Pantocid HP for 14 days, and I'm currently on the 7th day. I'm still having that burning feeling in my food pipe and stomach. I'm curious to know how long it usually takes for patients to feel relief. Also, should I be taking the Pantocid HP before or after meals?

The treatment for Helicobacter Pylori infection can take more than 14 days. The burning sensation in your throat is a symptom of that infection, which can be manageable through use of antacid tablets and gels, such as Mucaine, Gelusil, Pantocid, or Omez. There is no fixed time after which all patients will invariably feel relief. Some patients respond faster to medication, while some require longer time durations with recalibration of medication and lifestyle modification. Pantocid tablets are to be take 15-30 minutes before food.

I'm really concerned right now. A couple of months ago, I had typhoid, but everything seemed fine afterward. I did an ultrasound and all my tests came back normal, so I went back to my usual diet. But recently, after a weekend of drinking more alcohol than usual, I experienced a hangover that felt really strange. I went to the hospital, and while most of my liver function test results were normal, my bilirubin levels were highBilirubin Total was 2.2, Direct was 0.9, and Indirect was 1.3. The ultrasound showed nothing abnormal, though. My doctor prescribed some ursodeoxycholic acid tablets and anti-reflux meds, and suggested we repeat the liver function test after 15 days. I'm pretty worried about this whole situation. Could this be linked to my past typhoid, or did the alcohol play a bigger role? What should I be keeping an eye on? This is stressing me out.

I'm having trouble eating spicy foodsthey just really don't sit well with me, even though I've seen my doctor and the blood tests came back normal. I don't have any mouth ulcers or anything like that either. What could be going on here? Any ideas?
