I've been dealing with sinus issues for two years now and to help with the headaches, I've been using Zandu Balm on my forehead. But over the past year, I've noticed that part of my forehead has turned completely black. Do you have any idea what's going on or how I can stop this from happening?

The use of Zandu balm on your forehead for an extended period has led to a condition called "contact leukoderma" or "chemical leukoderma."

What is Contact Leukoderma?

Contact leukoderma is a condition where the skin loses its pigmentation due to exposure to certain chemicals or substances. In your case, the prolonged use of Zandu balm has caused the skin on your forehead to lose its pigmentation, resulting in the black discoloration.

How to Avoid Further Discoloration?

  1. Stop using Zandu balm: Immediately discontinue the use of Zandu balm on the affected area to prevent further discoloration.
  2. Consult a dermatologist: Schedule an appointment with a dermatologist to assess the affected area and provide guidance on treatment options.
  3. Use sun protection: Avoid exposing the affected area to direct sunlight, as this can worsen the discoloration. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 when going outdoors.
  4. Avoid further irritation: Refrain from using harsh skin care products, exfoliating, or using hot water on the affected area, as this can cause further irritation and discoloration.

I've been dealing with vitiligo on my lips since 2007 and I've been using tacrolimus ointment 0.1 along with oral psoralen tablets, but I haven't seen any improvement. Is there anything else I should try or any advice you might have for my situation?

Vitiligo on lips since 2007, tacrolimus ointment 0.1% is being used at present along with oral psoralen tablet. But no any result. For vitiligo on the lips that has not responded to tacrolimus ointment and oral psoralen tablet, another treatment option to consider is topical corticosteroids. You can try using a potent topical corticosteroid like Clobetasol propionate ointment 0.05% twice daily on the affected areas of the lips. Additionally, phototherapy with narrowband UVB light can also be beneficial for treating vitiligo. It is important to continue treatment consistently and follow up with your healthcare provider for further evaluation and management.

I'm dealing with oily and acne-prone skinwhat I can use Venusia cream as a moisturizer? I'm really worried about whether it might block my pores and lead to more acne. What do you think?

Venusia cream is not specifically formulated for oily and acne-prone skin. It may be too heavy and could potentially clog pores, leading to more acne breakouts. I recommend using oil-free and non-comedogenic moisturizers like Cetaphil Oil Control Moisturizer. Apply a thin layer of moisturizer to clean skin twice a day for best results.
