I've been dealing with a sprained ankle for about 18 days now and there's still some swelling. I saw an ortho who checked the X-rays and said there's no fracture, just a sprain. He gave me Dolanzen and Lormoto for two weeks. The pain's better, but I'm still having trouble walking and there's some swelling left. How long does it usually take to fully heal from a sprain like this? Do you think the meds I'm on are okay? What can I do to get rid of the remaining swelling?

View allMy MRI shows a complete tear in the posterior horn and body of the lateral meniscus, along with a Schatzker type 3 lateral tibial plateau fracture and joint effusion. I don't have pain or locking, just a bit of swelling do I really need surgery for this?
It's difficult to say definitively whether you need surgery without a thorough examination by an orthopedic specialist. However, a complete tear in the lateral meniscus, along with a Schatzker type 3 tibial plateau fracture, usually necessitates surgical intervention. While the lack of pain and locking might be a positive sign, the tibial plateau fracture itself often requires surgical fixation.

I'm 27 and have knock knees (genu valgum). Is there any way to fix this without surgery? I'm worried about how it affects me long-term and if exercises or braces could help
In almost all cases of genu valgum, the condition will resolve before a child reaches adolescence. For older children and adults, the most likely form of therapy involves stretches and exercises to realign the knees and relieve pain. Some people might find relief with orthotics or braces

My pinky finger got fractured and the doctor recommended surgery. Is surgery really necessary for this kind of injury? I've attached the x-ray could you take a look and let me know what you think? Just worried if there are other options or if surgery is the best way to heal properly.
I would need some more details to get a clear idea of what you are going through
