I've been dealing with this strange sensation in my left ear. It all started a few days back when I had a cold and was blowing my nose a lot. At one point, after blowing my nose, it felt like some kind of air pressure built up in my left ear. Now that my cold is gone, it still feels like Im breathing through my left ear. Is this something I should be worried about? What could be causing this?

I've been dealing with some nasal congestion and was told I might have turbinate hypertrophy. I'm really hoping to avoid surgery if possible. Are there any medications or treatments that could help shrink the turbinates or at least give me some relief without having to go under the knife? Would love some advice on what to try or any tips on managing this.

Turbinate Hypertroneeds surgical excision only when it is causing severe symptoms or aggrevating Sinusitis, otherwise you can neglect it.

My mom has a CSF leak from her right nose. The ENT surgeon recommends surgery, but the general medicine and critical care doctors say it's not urgent and suggest getting a third opinion from a neurologist or another ENT specialist. She's on medication now and showing some improvement compared to before. Should we go ahead with the endoscopic surgery or wait to see if it heals on its own?

Given the differing opinions and your mother's improving condition, it's wise to delay the surgery and explore conservative treatment options. The ENT surgeon's recommendation for surgery is one option, but the general medicine and critical care doctors suggest a less urgent approach and seeking a second or third opinion. Since the condition is improving, a period of observation and conservative treatment is warranted.
