I've been dealing with a urine infection ever since I got pregnant and I'm 25 years old, currently 23 weeks along. My recent routine report showed RBC at 24, epithelial cells at 25-30, and pus cells at 10-15. Everything else seems to be in the normal range. I'm really concerned about these numbers and not sure what they mean for my pregnancy. Could this be harmful to my baby, and what should I do about it?

Medications During Pregnancy

6th Month of Pregnancy (24th Week)

Prescribed Medications:

  1. Azithromycin (antibiotic): Generally considered safe during pregnancy, but should be used with caution.
  2. Sinarest (antihistamine): Can be used during pregnancy, but with caution, as it may cause drowsiness.
  3. Ascoril D Plus Syrup (cough syrup): Contains dextromethorphan, which is generally considered safe during pregnancy.

Safety Concerns:

  1. Azithromycin: May increase the risk of cardiac malformations in the baby, although the risk is low.
  2. Sinarest: May cause drowsiness, which can be a concern during pregnancy.

Precautions:

  1. Consult your doctor: Inform your doctor about any concerns or questions you have about the medications.
  2. Monitor for side effects: Watch for any side effects in your wife, such as allergic reactions, and report them to the doctor.
  3. Follow dosage instructions: Ensure your wife takes the medications exactly as prescribed by the doctor.

Alternative Options:

  1. Natural remedies: Consider natural remedies like ginger, peppermint, or honey to alleviate symptoms.
  2. Pregnancy-safe medications: If your wife's symptoms persist, consult the doctor about alternative medications that are safer during pregnancy.

It's important to consult your doctor before continuing Montral and Omnacortil during pregnancy. While they may help manage symptoms, both medications have potential risks for the baby. Your doctor can suggest safer alternatives to manage your allergic cough during pregnancy.

I've been using the Prega News kit, and there's a very faint line that showed up after a minute of taking the test. It wasn't there when I first checked right after the test. This faint line is barely visible, doesn't have much color, and it isn't showing in the picture I took. Does this mean it's just too early to tell, or could this mean a negative result? I'm a bit unsure and would love some guidance on this.

-A very faint line can sometimes appear when the test is taken early, as the hCG levels might be too low to show a strong result. It's best to wait a few more days and retest, as testing too early can lead to unclear results.

Is amniotic fluid sticky?

Amniotic fluid shouldn't have a sticky consistency. If you notice something sticky or a thick whitish residue in your underwear, it's unlikely to be your waters. It is more likely to be heavy vaginal discharge or signs of your mucus plug.
