I've been diagnosed with bulging discs in my 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th cervical vertebrae and was recommended microdiscectomy surgery. I'm really worried about the risks is this procedure actually safe and effective? Are there other ways to fix this without going under the knife?

My dad has a herniated disk at L5 S1 and the doctor is recommending minor surgery. Is surgery really necessary or can it be treated with just medicines? The doctor said the slipped disk is pressing on a nerve going to his left leg, which is causing back pain and loss of sensation in that leg. I'm worried what would be the best approach?

Disecectomy at l5-S1 is advised ,ortho opinion also advised to the patient.

my mri report shows grade 1 anterolisthesis of l5 over s1 with a break in the pars interarticularis of l5 vertebral body - does this condition usually require surgery or can it be managed without it

Grade 1 anterolisthesis with pars break often managed with rest, brace, and physiotherapy—surgery only if pain/numbness persists or worsens.
