I've been experiencing a rise in my body temperature, along with muscle pain and a mild headache for the past three days. I don't have chills or that sunken feeling, but it's really persistent. I took paracetamol and augmentin, and while they seemed to help at first, the symptoms keep coming back. What could be going on with me?

Persistent Anal Itching

Possible Causes

  1. Hemorrhoids: Swollen veins in the anal region can cause itching, discomfort, and bleeding.
  2. Anal fissures: Small tears in the lining of the anus can lead to itching, pain, and bleeding.
  3. Eczema or dermatitis: Skin conditions can cause itching, redness, and inflammation in the anal region.
  4. Fungal or bacterial infections: Infections like candidiasis or bacterial vaginosis can cause anal itching.
  5. Dietary factors: Consuming spicy, acidic, or high-fiber foods can irritate the anal region.
  6. Gastrointestinal issues: Conditions like diarrhea, constipation, or irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) can contribute to anal itching.

Recommendations

  1. Consult a doctor: Schedule an appointment with your primary care physician, gastroenterologist, or proctologist to determine the underlying cause.
  2. Keep the area clean and dry: Continue practicing good hygiene, and consider using a mild soap and warm water.
  3. Avoid scratching: Scratching can further irritate the area and make symptoms worse.
  4. Try over-the-counter treatments: Apply hydrocortisone cream or witch hazel to the affected area to reduce itching and inflammation.
  5. Dietary changes: Avoid trigger foods, increase fiber intake, and stay hydrated to promote digestive health.

I'm dealing with a cold and a runny nose for the last 15 days, and I've been taking Cheston Cold. It seems to help, but only for a day, and then the symptoms come back. Could you help me understand why this might be happening and what I can do to properly get rid of it? Its getting frustrating!

Avoid common irritants such as cigarette smoke and sudden temperature changes. Drink plenty of water. Use a humidifier. Try nasal saline sprays or rinses. If the runny nose is a persistent, watery discharge, particularly if accompanied by sneezing and itchy or watery eyes, your symptoms may be allergy-related and an over-the-counter antihistamine may help...take OTC antipyretics along with above... If symptoms persists more than 3 days even after OTC medication consult physician they will help you.

We've decided to adopt and need to get a medical fitness certificate for the CARA registration. Were a bit lost and could use some help figuring out where to get this done and what exactly the procedure involves. Could you guide us on this?

You can get a medical fitness certificate for CARA registration from any registered medical practitioner or government hospital. The doctor will conduct a basic physical examination and may request standard tests like blood work or a chest X-ray to confirm your overall health. Simply inform the doctor that the certificate is for adoption purposes under CARA guidelines.

My sister got a small cut with a rusty iron sickle. I'm kind of worried if she needs to get a tetanus shot. The last time she had one was on December 1, 2020, which is over six months ago. The wound is really minor, just a tiny bit of blood when we pressed it, and we cleaned it with Dettol and water. Do you think she should get the injection?

-Yes, your sister should get a tetanus booster shot since its been more than 3 years since her last one, and the wound involved a rusted iron sickle. Youve done well by cleaning it with Dettol, but a booster will ensure full protection.
