I've been experiencing this weird tightness in my neck along with a sore throat that comes and goes. It's been almost a week now, and I'm not sure what could be causing it. Sometimes I feel it pretty strongly, and other times it's not there at all. What could be going on?

My 3-year-old has frequent swelling and infections in the neck area from adenoid issues, along with constant high fever and runny nose. The doctor recommended surgery to remove the adenoids, but we're hesitant because of his age. Are there other options we can try first?
Yes, there are often alternative approaches to address adenoid issues in young children before considering surgery. Instead of immediate removal, your doctor might recommend a course of antibiotics to address any bacterial infections, along with nasal sprays to reduce swelling. If the adenoids are not causing significant breathing difficulties or infections, they can be monitored to see if they shrink naturally as the child grows older
