I've been feeling really unwell with a heavy fever and body aches. My face, lips, and nose are swollen and painful, and I can't breathe through my nose because it's completely blocked. What could be causing this, and what should I do?

Is it safe to use Epsom salt for gargling? A lot of my friends keep saying it's helpful in different situations, but I'm worried if it might harm the body in some way. Are there any precautions I should take if I decide to use it?

Epsom salt, when dissolved in water, can be used as a gargle to help relieve sore throat and mouth sores. It is generally safe for gargling when used in appropriate concentrations. However, it is important to note that ingesting Epsom salt can lead to magnesium toxicity, so it should not be swallowed. To gargle with Epsom salt, mix about half a teaspoon of Epsom salt in a glass of warm water and gargle with it for a few seconds before spitting it out. There is no need to cover up after gargling with Epsom salt.

So, I had a tympanoplasty type 1 ear surgery back on May 10, 2018, and my doctor removed some gel forms on June 5, but mentioned there's still a bit left on my eardrum. They can't clear it yet 'cause the doc's on leave, and advised me to use otocin o ear drops, four drops daily, until then. My worry is, when I put the ear drops in before bed, they don't seem to drain properly. Even after sleeping for 7 to 8 hours, the drops just come out when I wake up. Is it okay for the medicine to stay in my ear for that long, or should I be worried about how they're not draining? How long are ear drops typically supposed to stay in the ear anyway?

I've noticed this lump in my throat right above my Adam's apple, and I'm not really experiencing much pain. I do feel a slight twinge when I swallow though. Should I be worried about this?
