my brother has a hole in his right eardrum and hears sounds but they're muffled. he's been on nutramore tablets and azeflo nasal spray for a year as prescribed by the doctor. is there any other treatment besides surgery or meds that can help heal the eardrum hole

I've been dealing with a lot of excessive salivation lately and it's really hard for me to swallow. I'm worried and wondering what could be causing this and what I can do to help it. Any advice would be appreciated.
