I've been having this nagging pain in my jaw, right near the ear for the past few days. It really hurts when I chew my food, yawn, or if I move my mouth a lot. Any idea what this could be? Who should I see about it?

View allI'm really worried. A couple of days ago, I accidentally hit my wife on her right cheek, and now her jaw on that side is swollen. It was starting to get better, and she didn't have any pain for about two weeks. But suddenly, yesterday, she's in a lot of pain again, and the swelling has increased. Should we see a dentist, or would a regular doctor be better for this?
visit a surgeon it would be better

I've been dealing with a toothache for the past couple of days. There's a cavity, and it's been really painful, especially since this evening. I can't even drink cold water because it hurts so much. Can you suggest something that might help?
-You can try rinsing with warm salt water to reduce pain and inflammation. Applying a cold compress to the outside of your cheek may also help numb the area. However, it's best to see a dentist soon to get the cavity treated.

I'm on an antibiotic course for a tooth cavity issue, and due to the lockdown, the dentists can't do any root canal procedures. They've given me Augmentin 625 Duo, Ultracet, and Pan D to take for the meantime. But now, after 24 hours, I'm starting to feel feverish. Could any of these medications be causing the fever?
It is unlikely that these drugs would cause fever. The fever might be due to your tooth infection. If the fever persists or becomes high grade, please consult your dentist.
