I've been having some trouble understanding my recent test results. My total bilirubin level has been over 1.5 and my SGOTSGPT levels above 50 since September 2015. I've had all sorts of tests done at MIOT, but everything came back negative. The doctors haven't figured out why it's like this yet, and they're suggesting continued follow-up. I'm just really concerned and would appreciate any advice on what might be going on.

Udiliv 300 for Altered Liver Enzymes

Safety and Efficacy

  1. Udiliv 300: Contains ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA), which helps stabilize liver cell membranes and promote bile flow.
  2. Short-term use: Generally safe and effective for short-term use (up to 6-12 months) in patients with mild liver enzyme elevations.
  3. Long-term use: Long-term safety and efficacy data are limited. Potential risks include:
    • Hepatotoxicity (rare)
    • Increased risk of liver cancer (theoretical)

Precautions and Monitoring

  1. Regular liver function tests (LFTs): Monitor LFTs (SGOT, SGPT, and bilirubin) every 3-6 months to assess treatment efficacy and potential hepatotoxicity.
  2. Dose adjustment: Adjust the dose or discontinue Udiliv 300 if LFTs worsen or if you experience adverse effects.
  3. Liver ultrasound or imaging: Consider periodic liver ultrasound or imaging studies to monitor liver health.

Alternative Options

  1. Consult a gastroenterologist or hepatologist: Discuss alternative treatment options and long-term management strategies with a specialist.
  2. Lifestyle modifications: Implement lifestyle changes, such as:
    • Maintaining a healthy weight
    • Exercising regularly
    • Eating a balanced diet
    • Avoiding hepatotoxic substances (e.g., excessive alcohol)

In Conclusion

While Udiliv 300 can be used for short-term management of altered liver enzymes, long-term use requires careful monitoring and consideration of alternative options. Consult a specialist to determine the best course of treatment for your specific situation.

I've been dealing with severe peritonitis, but the doctors can't figure out what's causing it. How do they usually find the root cause when it's not obvious? Also, why would a dentist recommend surgery for something like this does it connect to oral health somehow?

bacteria ,also dentist opinion is advised.

I'm really worried about my mom. She had an ultrasound a couple of days ago, and it said her liver is bigger than normal at 159 mm with mildly increased echotexture. Theres no sign of dilated IHBR or any abscess. Most other organs like her gall bladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys, and uterus seem normal, but she has been feeling nauseous consistently for the last 10 days and it's hard for her to eat. She has diabetes and high blood pressure for which she's on medication. What do you think could be causing these symptoms, and what should we do next?

I'm really concerned right now. A couple of months ago, I had typhoid, but everything seemed fine afterward. I did an ultrasound and all my tests came back normal, so I went back to my usual diet. But recently, after a weekend of drinking more alcohol than usual, I experienced a hangover that felt really strange. I went to the hospital, and while most of my liver function test results were normal, my bilirubin levels were highBilirubin Total was 2.2, Direct was 0.9, and Indirect was 1.3. The ultrasound showed nothing abnormal, though. My doctor prescribed some ursodeoxycholic acid tablets and anti-reflux meds, and suggested we repeat the liver function test after 15 days. I'm pretty worried about this whole situation. Could this be linked to my past typhoid, or did the alcohol play a bigger role? What should I be keeping an eye on? This is stressing me out.
