I've been struggling with ringworm for a while now and it just won't clear up. I've already tried a bunch of ointments like Fourderm, Ring Guard, Itch Guard, and Dermi 5, but nothing seems to work. Do you have any recommendations for something more effective?

Topical Treatments*

  1. Terbinafine cream or ointment: An antifungal medication that's effective against ringworm.
  2. Clotrimazole cream or ointment: Another antifungal medication that can help clear up the infection.
  3. Econazole cream or ointment: An antifungal medication that's effective against a range of fungal infections, including ringworm.

Oral Medications

  1. Terbinafine tablets: If the infection is severe or widespread, oral terbinafine may be prescribed.
  2. Fluconazole tablets: Another oral antifungal medication that can help clear up the infection.

Additional Measures

  1. Keep the affected area clean and dry: Wash the area with soap and water, and dry it thoroughly.
  2. Avoid sharing personal items: Don't share towels, clothing, or other personal items to prevent the spread of the infection.
  3. Wear loose, breathable clothing: Tight clothing can irritate the skin and make the infection worse.

Is there any way to treat or manage macular amyloidosis? I've seen quite a few dermatologists, but they all told me there's no cure, and the medications they gave me didn't seem to help. Could you provide any insight or advice on this?

Unfortunately, there is currently no definitive cure for macular amyloidosis. However, topical treatments such as Tacrolimus ointment can help improve the appearance of the affected skin. You can apply Tacrolimus ointment twice daily to the affected areas as prescribed by your dermatologist. Additionally, phototherapy with Narrowband UVB light may also be beneficial in some cases. It is important to follow your dermatologist's recommendations for the best management of macular amyloidosis.

I've just recently noticed these vertical light pink lines on the nail plate of my middle finger on the left handabout 1mm wide. When I look closely, they seem to be on all my nails. If I press down on them, the lines disappear. Is this something normal, or could it be serious since I've never noticed it before? I'm worried it might be melanoma based on what I've read online. The growing white part of the nails seems shaded because of these lines, and as they grow, they stay the same shaded color. I tried cutting the nail a bit deeper and noticed the band isn't on the skin, just the nail plate. Do you have any idea what this could be? Is it an infection or something I should be concerned about? I did a full medical check-up about five months ago, and everything came back normal.
