I've been struggling with severe joint pain for years and can barely walk anymore. I've tried ayurveda, homeopathy, and allopathy treatments but nothing's worked. Is knee replacement surgery my only option left or are there other treatments I should explore first?

While knee replacement surgery may be a solution for severe joint pain, it's not always the first or only option. There are several other treatments and approaches to explore, including lifestyle modifications, physical therapy, medications, and other minimally invasive procedures

My left collar bone sticks out way more than the right one, and my shoulders look uneven with the left one sitting higher. From the back, my posture seems tilted to the right, and I get pain on the right side of my back when I stand for too long. Can this be fixed with surgery or exercises to make my posture symmetrical? Are there any long-term side effects if I don't get it treated?

Postural asymmetry may improve with physiotherapy, core strengthening, and ergonomic correction. Surgery is considered only in severe structural deformities.

Are there any physical exercises that can actually help fix bow legs or at least stop them from getting worse? I don't have pain yet but I'm worried it might start soon. What would you recommend?

While exercises cannot permanently fix bow legs (Genu Varum), they can help manage symptoms and potentially slow their progression. For an 18-year-old with bow legs, a combination of strengthening, stretching, and mobility exercises can be beneficial

My mom has been dealing with severe knee pain, and we're considering knee replacement surgery. She also has diabetes, though it's well-controlled. Can you help me understand the costs involved for this surgery in Mumbai, both in private and government hospitals? I'd really appreciate a breakdown of: - Pre and post-hospitalization expenses - The cost difference between Indian and international knee replacement materials - An estimate of the doctor's fees - The best health insurance plan with the shortest waiting period for this procedure Just trying to plan everything properly before we move forward.

Please first do appropriate investigation under the advice of a rheumatologist and determine if knee replacement is the solution to her problem. Diabetics have inherently higher risks in surgeries especially involving prosthetic devices and implants. And if you do decide on replacement consult an orthopaedic surgeon for the same
