I've had ACL and meniscus surgery back in August, and then in December, I slipped and fell. My knee's not swollen, but it bent all the way back, which hurt for a couple of days. It's been a few weeks now, and I'm back at the gym. I'm pretty sure it's not my ACL, but I'm worried about the meniscus. There are minor pains, nothing too severe, but I don't have health insurance. I can jog and jump, but there's something a bit off in my knee. How can I tell if I might have torn my meniscus?

I have a high grade partial ACL tear with grade 2 signal intensity in the posterior horn of my medial meniscus and a grade 2 LCL sprain. I'm unsure if I need surgery my main goal is to walk normally, cycle, and run without restrictions. I don't want to feel limited, but I'll do surgery if it's absolutely necessary. Can you help me understand if surgery is the only way to get back to normal?
It's understandable to want to know if surgery is the only path to your desired recovery goals. For a high-grade partial ACL tear, a grade 2 medial meniscus tear, and a grade 2 LCL sprain, surgery is not always necessary for full recovery and returning to activities like walking, cycling, and running, according to HSS. However, your specific situation and individual factors will determine the best course of action

I had a major humerus fracture and got a plate put in almost two years back. Now I'm having pain when I move my arm too much at work and can't lift my left hand above my shoulder. What can I do to help it heal better and when would be the right time to get the plate removed?
You can get the plate removed now. Start physiotherapy exercises to relieve stiffness.
