I've had alopecia universalis for a year and my doctor prescribed decdan 0.5 to take every weekend 5 on Sunday and 5 on Saturday. But I'm getting ACL reconstruction and meniscus repair surgery on my knee next week. Should I keep taking the medicine or stop it before the surgery? I'm a bit worried about how it might affect the procedure or recovery.

I'm noticing that the skin under my breasts and in the pubic area is getting darker, and I'm really worried if this could be something serious. I tried using aloe vera gel, but I'm not sure if it's helping. Can you give me some advice on what might be going on?

However, it is important to consult a dermatologist for a proper evaluation and diagnosis

I've been wondering if there's a way to permanently reduce melanin in my skin. I'm a bit concerned about the safety aspects too, like are there any side effects or risks I should know about when using creams that lower melanin levels? I want to make sure I'm taking the right steps to avoid any skin diseases. What do you think?

Reducing melanin permanently is not possible, as melanin production is a natural process in the body. However, there are ways to lighten the skin temporarily using topical creams containing ingredients like hydroquinone, kojic acid, or retinoids. It is important to use these creams as directed by a dermatologist to avoid any potential side effects.
