I've had anal pain for the past two months and noticed a tear when I checked in the mirror some people said it might be an anal fissure. Three days ago, I saw a general surgeon but he didn't examine the area and just gave me pain meds for five days along with diet advice. I've been following the diet for a month and taking the meds for three days, but the pain hasn't stopped. How long does it usually take for this to heal, and is surgery the only option or can it be fixed with diet like fruits and veggies? Why hasn't it gotten better yet?
