I've had inferior and middle turbinate issues along with a deviated nasal septum for the past 13 years. I'm 22 now and experience nasal blockage at night sometimes in the right nostril, sometimes the left, but never both at once. My sleep is fine though. Should I consider surgery or just live with it? What type of surgery would you recommend, and will I be able to live normally afterward?

I've been dealing with polypoidal thickening in my maxillary sinuses for about 4 months now. There's this constant tightness behind my left eye, cheek, and ears, along with some stiffness in the left side of my neck and headaches on the left side of my head. I'm really concerned about whether this could be something serious or life-threatening. Any insights?

Based on your symptoms and MRI findings, it seems like you are experiencing symptoms related to sinusitis. To help reduce the inflammation and relieve your symptoms, you can try using a nasal corticosteroid spray like Flonase (fluticasone) 2 sprays in each nostril once daily. Additionally, you can take an over-the-counter pain reliever like Tylenol (acetaminophen) 500mg every 4-6 hours as needed for headache relief. It is important to follow up with your healthcare provider for further evaluation and management of your sinus condition.

I've been dealing with this fever, cough, and cold situation, and while I've started taking meds, my sore throat just won't go away. I had some cucumber and tomato raita last night, and I'm worried if they might be making my throat worse. Could those foods be affecting my recovery?

Eating cucumber and dahi (yogurt) is unlikely to cause or worsen a sore throat; in fact, yogurt has anti-inflammatory properties and can help soothe a sore throat; however, the acidity in tomatoes might slightly irritate the throat, but this is usually temporary and mild; it's more likely that your sore throat persists due to the underlying viral or bacterial infection, and it may take some time to fully recover, so continue with your medicatio

I'm having this issue where I'm producing a lot of saliva while I'm sleeping, and it feels like my mouth and windpipe are just drying out, so I'm constantly having to swallow. It sometimes leads to saliva or mucus accidentally getting into my windpipe when I'm deeply asleep, and I wake up suddenly because I'm choking and can't breathe. It's really scary because I struggle for a bit before I can finally breathe normally again. It's making me afraid that I might actually choke in my sleep. Also, I've got this allergy to cough. Could you help me understand what's going on and maybe what I can do about it?
