I've noticed that for the past few months, my stool has been really dark, like black or brown, and kind of sticky. There's no pain or anything, but it just doesn't seem normal to me. Should I be concerned and what might be causing it?

Dark black or brown sticky stool can be a sign of gastrointestinal bleeding. I recommend you to take Pantoprazole to reduce stomach acid and Sucralfate to help protect the lining of the stomach and intestines. These medications can help in case there is any ulceration or irritation in the gastrointestinal tract. Additionally, it is important to follow up with a gastroenterologist for further evaluation and management.

I'm wondering if drinking lemon water in the morning can actually help with bloating or if it might cause any side effects. I've been trying it out, but I feel like I'm having more gas building up in my stomach since I started. Should I keep drinking it, or is this a sign I should stop?

I've been diagnosed with GERD grade 3 reflux and I'm wondering if surgery is an option for me. I'm really concerned about post-op complications is there a way to avoid them or are there alternatives I should consider?

If your symptoms did not improve with lifestyle changes or drug therapy, you may be a candidate for surgery. Some patients prefer a surgical approach as an alternative to a lifetime of taking medications. The goal of surgery for reflux disease is to strengthen the anti-reflux barrier.
