I've noticed a sore bump near my butt hole that gets really irritating when I sit down. It's also painful if I press on it. What could this be, and what can I do to get some relief?

I've been dealing with external and internal hemorrhoids for a year now, and despite being on medication, they're not getting better in fact, they seem to be getting bigger. I'm having a lot of pain right at the edge of my anus and lower back, and it's making it really hard to sit or go to the bathroom. I've also noticed some swelling in that area, and it hurts more if I try to stretch the muscle. Can you help me figure out what might be going on and suggest who I should see about this?

Could be an anal fissure or hemorrhoids. For confirmation you will have to consult a specialist. To help with the pain and discomfort, you can try using over-the-counter ointments like Anusol or Preparation H to help reduce swelling and promote healing. Additionally, taking a stool softener like Colace can help make bowel movements less painful. Make sure to drink plenty of water and eat a high-fiber diet to avoid constipation. If the symptoms persist or worsen, it is advisable to consult a gastroenterologist for further evaluation and management.
