For the last four days, she has been taking Thyroxin 25. After starting the medicine, her whole body seems swollen and she feels sleepy throughout the day. She is 10 weeks pregnant. What should I do? Should I stop the thyroid medicine?

Sudden swelling and sleepiness after starting Thyrox needs urgent thyroid re evaluation. Do not stop medicine without test. Could be under or over dosing.

View allHello, I had hypothyroidism during my pregnancy with TSH 11.5, and my gynecologist suggested taking 100 mcg of Thyronorm (while I had been taking 75 mcg before). Now, post delivery, my TSH value is 0.014, which seems like hyperthyroidism. Can you please tell me if this is dangerous and what the cause might be? My calcium levels are borderline low, and my vitamin D levels have also decreased. Will this affect my baby (2.5 months old) as I am breastfeeding? My gynecologist, after looking at my report, changed the Thyronorm dosage from 100 mcg back to 75 mcg. How frequently should I do a thyroid test, and is there anything I need to worry about? Can my pituitary gland become normal post pregnancy?

My mother has had thyroid issues for a long time and she takes her medicine regularly. She works a lot at home but is still unable to reduce her weight. She has rheumatoid arthritis and because of it, she is unable to do exercise or any extra outdoor activity to reduce weight. Painkillers have side effects on her, so she is now taking Ayurvedic medicines for pain relief. Recently, I had her general health test done through 1mg. Her thyroid was slightly high and her WBC count was elevated, but not to the extent that needs immediate medical attention. She is coping well, but there are some gaps in her healthcare. She has visited different doctors, but things are still not improving. I am unable to find a correct doctor for her so that we can take proper care of her health?

Hi Sir, We recently did a thyroid test for my wife, who gave birth 5 months ago. The results are: T3: 2.96, T4: 0.54, TSH: 62. Is this normal after delivery, or should we start treatment? If treatment is started, will her thyroid levels come down to normal?
