Left kidney shows mild hydronephrosis due to 17.5 mm calculus in upper ureter. This is my report. Doctor says to do laser operation quickly to pass the stone as the other kidney may get damaged because it swells up due to the stone.

A 17.5 mm stone is large and likely to cause urine blockage, leading to kidney swelling known as hydronephrosis. This condition needs timely intervention, as delay may damage the kidney. If your doctor has advised surgical removal, it is best to proceed without delay to prevent further complications.

I had a 6 mm kidney stone earlier and suffered severe pain with it. After drinking a lot of water, the stone passed into the urinary bladder and eventually the pain disappeared. Now after 6 months, I have dark colored urine and my report shows 15 to 20 red blood cells per high power field, but I have no pain and no fever. The urine culture report is negative. What might be the problem?
