My 2.3-year-old son only says 1 or 2 letter words like mummy, papa, ayu, bhavu. He also mixes up words, saying 'taj' instead of 'raj.' His pediatrician suggested surgery for extra skin under his tongue is this really necessary? What else can I do to help his speech development?

  1. Buy simple cardboard books like animals, fruits, transport books and read together, this will improve vocabulary. Then buy books like Bubble series.. and together read every night . Also ,Singing rhymes with actions is fun way to improve language. 2.Talk to him everything you are doing in daily activities eg: if you are chopping veggies, tell him so.. 3.Send him to Play group/preschools. 4. Wait for a month and If this doesn't help then go to pediatricians to evaluate in details.

I'm really worried because I accidentally got a drop of nasal saline into my 5-month-old baby's eye. Could this affect their eyesight? I'm feeling really anxious about it, and I'd love some guidance.

Mistakenly nasal saline drops getting into your 5-month-old baby's eye can cause some irritation, but it is unlikely to cause any long-term problems with eyesight. To help alleviate any discomfort and prevent infection, you can gently flush the eye with clean water. If the irritation persists or if you notice any redness, swelling, or discharge from the eye, please consult with your pediatrician.

I'm really worried about my son because he's got a high viral fever that goes between 101 and 104. We're already doing sponging when his fever hits 103 and following the medicine schedule our pediatrician suggested, which seems to help lower the fever a bit. But someone mentioned it might be a good idea to keep him in an air-conditioned room with the temperature set to around 24-25 degrees. Do you think it's safe or advisable to use the AC when he's dealing with a viral fever?

I'm really worried about my little one. He had pneumonia when he was just 9 months old, and since then he keeps getting sick every few weeks, like every 23 weeks or so. Now he's got a fever and cold, and he's coughing with wheezing again. Is there a pattern here, or something we should be doing differently? This keeps happening, and I feel like I'm missing something important. Would love your advice on what steps to take next.
