My blood report shows Typhi O: 1:160 and Typhi H: 1:80, and the lab said I have typhoid. Which medicine should I take?
Answered by 1 Apollo Doctors
Your Widal test shows Typhi O 1:160 and Typhi H 1:80, which may suggest typhoid but only if you have high grade fever, abdominal pain, or weakness. Widal test alone is not very reliable. If symptoms match, consult your doctor to start antibiotics like cefixime or azithromycin. Avoid self medication. For accurate diagnosis, blood culture is more reliable.

View allMy mother blood report shows S. Typhi antigen O 1:160 and S. Typhi antigen H 1:160. The doctor has prescribed Opox CV 200 for 15 days. She has become very weak. Should we admit her to the hospital or wait for the Opox CV to work? Should the medicine be changed?

My wife was diagnosed with typhoid fever 3 days ago, but she has been ill for the past week. The doctor prescribed Taximo 400 twice daily and Calpol 650 for fever. However, her fever has remained steady between 101 to 104F for the last 3 days. I am attaching the test report. Could you please advise if we need to worry or consider changing the medication? The doctor mentioned that this might be a rare type of typhoid.

I have been experiencing chills and a low grade fever for more than 20 days. I have taken paracetamol and cetirizine for chills and mild cold symptoms. The chills and shivering come and go but never completely go away. I had a CBC and malaria test done, and both were negative. Today, when I checked my temperature during an episode of chills, it was normal (98F). Currently, I am experiencing chills along with a headache. What should I do?
