my close family member has spinal TB affecting the L4 and L5 discs and is getting treated with surgery and a 9-month medication course - can this disease spread to others at home or is it contagious

Spinal tuberculosis, or Pott's disease, is generally not directly contagious in the way that pulmonary TB is. The infection typically spreads through the bloodstream from a primary infection, often in the lungs, to the bones and discs in the spine.

I finished my 5 doses of RABIPUR vaccine in November 2016 and got another dose on February 16, 2017. I'm really confused about how long I'm protected from rabies now. Different doctors have told me different things, like I won't need a booster for 4 months, or just 1 dose a year is enough, or even that I should take 2 doses if there's a new exposure. Today I noticed a scratch near my neck, and I'm worried if it could be from an animal, maybe a dog or a monkey, though I'm not sure. Since I already had a recent dose on 16th Feb, will that cover me for this scratch today, or do I need another booster now?

I'm really worried after visiting a barber shop because I'm afraid I might have been exposed to infections like HBV, HCV, or HIV. Could you tell me more about when I should get tested? I heard that an antibodies test for HIV can be done after 4 weeks or even up to 12 weeks, but I also read something about a p24 antigen test that can be taken after 4 weeks. How accurate are these tests? I could really use some advice right now.

Antibodies test for HIV can be performed after 4 weeks for preliminary results, but for more accurate results, it is recommended to wait for 12 weeks post-exposure. The p24 antigen test can be performed after 4 weeks to detect the HIV virus directly. It is important to follow up with healthcare provider for further evaluation and management.
