My creatinine level is 1.31 mg/dL. Does this indicate kidney failure? Is it dangerous, and do I need to consult a specialist?
Answered by 1 Apollo Doctors
Creatinine 1.31 is slightly high. May be due to dehydration, high protein diet, or early kidney stress. Repeat KFT, and drink more water. Consult if rising further.

My father is 65 years old and is suffering from hernia. The doctor has advised surgery. Does this creatinine level indicate kidney failure? If yes, to what extent, and how can it be managed? Also, can we safely proceed with the hernia operation? For context, he has diabetes, but his blood pressure and sugar levels are under control.
