My dad is 65 and has COPD from smoking and exposure to harmful gases for 15 years. He also has a hernia we know COPD isn't curable, but is it safe for him to have hernia surgery now given his condition?

It's understandable to be concerned about hernia surgery in someone with COPD. While COPD itself isn't curable, a hernia surgery can be safe if the patient's lung function is within acceptable limits and proper management is in place.

View allI've been dealing with a perianal abscess, and my ultrasound confirmed it. The doctors are saying I should have surgery, and I'm really anxious about any potential long-term effects it could have. Is surgery the only option here, or are there any alternatives I could consider? I'd really appreciate some guidance on this.
Surgery is usually the most effective treatment for perianal abscesses, and while there may be some short-term discomfort and risk of complications, long-term effects are generally minimal; however, to discuss alternatives and potential risks, consult your surgeon

My sonography report shows a distended gallbladder with multiple calculi, the largest being 5.9 mm, but no signs of cholecystitis. I'm having slight bloating and pain in that area should I consider surgery or wait it out?
