my dad has had an ulcer on his tongue for a year now but he doesn't use tobacco smoke or drink alcohol the doctor recommended surgery could this be cancer and if it is would surgery be the right option his blood tests came back normal

I've been trying to make sense of something after a recent CT scan. It showed a large lymph node mass that's partially encasing some major blood vessels around my kidneys and pancreas. About two years ago, my doctor said it was linked to tuberculosis, so I took medicine for over a year, but the lymph node only got a little bigger. Do you have any idea why that's happening?
