My MRI shows desiccation of the L4-L5 disc causing nerve root compression. I get pain when walking, and it's making daily activities hard. Is this a serious issue? What nonsurgical treatments are available? Can it heal without surgery, and what are the chances of recovery without going under the knife?
Discectomy is advised to the patient.
