View allI had titanium plate surgery for a tibia and fibula fracture 4 months ago but now my leg is swollen and red. My orthopedic surgeon recommended removing the plate. What could be causing this and is removal the only option?

My 10-year-old son has cubitus varus in his left elbow and we're considering surgery for correction. I've noticed many doctors recommend lateral wedge osteotomy but I'm concerned about the lateral condylar prominence issue that can come with it. Are there any specialists in Pune or Mumbai who perform dome osteotomy for this condition?
Dome osteotomy is a good alternative and reduces cosmetic deformity. Pediatric orthopedic surgeons in major hospitals like Hinduja (Mumbai) or Deenanath Mangeshkar (Pune) may offer this—seek a second opinion there.
