My father does not have diabetes. However, today his fasting glucose was 121 mg/dL, and his postprandial blood sugar (PPBS) was 88 mg/dL. Is this a concern? Why is the PPBS lower than the fasting glucose? How should we proceed? His HbA1c is 6.2 percent

My question is about whether labs have different reference values because of the reagents used in processing. My lab report shows an A1C value of 6, and the lab normal range shows up to 6.2.
