My father has been a chain smoker for many years. Recently, I have noticed that he has become very lethargic, has lost interest in daily activities, and is also showing signs of forgetfulness. Although he has reduced his smoking, he has not quit completely. I am concerned whether these symptoms could be a result of long-term smoking. Kindly advise.

Yes, chronic smoking can contribute to cognitive decline, oxygen deprivation, or even early dementia. Evaluation by a neurologist is advised.

I have been experiencing head spinning and numbness for the past 10 days. It started with a blackout after running. I consulted a doctor who checked my blood sugar and blood pressure, which were normal. He also examined my ears, found a blockage, and cleared it. He advised me to take Nurogold tablets and use ear drops. What could be the cause of my symptoms and should I undergo further tests?

I have been suffering from hand tremors and muscle weakness, which affect my ability to perform daily tasks. My hands shake a lot, causing me embarrassment, and this has been happening since I was around 14 to 15 years old. A doctor advised hormonal tests, and my report shows the following: S.Free T4 is 1.09 ng per dl (Reference range 0.8 to 2.0) S.TSH (Ultrasensitive) is 2.4 uIU per ml (Reference range 0.4 to 4.5) Active Vitamin B12 (HoloTc) is 36 pmol per L (Reference range 30 to 165) Are these test results normal? Is my report normal? Also, what could be the actual cause of my hand tremors and muscle weakness?

I got my period after almost three months, on 15th July. Since then, I have been experiencing an electrical chill sensation on my scalp and tingling on my face below the eyebrows and lips. I consulted a neurosurgeon 8 days ago, described these symptoms, and was prescribed Nuhenz for 15 days with advice to follow up afterward. The electrical chill and tingling have now reduced by 50 to 60 percent. Recently, due to cold weather, I kept cotton in my ears for three days continuously, and now I hear a ringing sound in my left ear when in a quiet space. Additional notes: I had gum bleeding in the front teeth and visited a dentist, who found inflammation and cleaned my teeth. My blood report shows very low Vitamin D and slightly higher than normal TSH levels. Kindly let me know what could be causing these symptoms and what I should do next.
