My father has a wet cough and seems weak. His blood report shows neutrophilic leucocytosis, and his lymphocyte count is 12.3. Is this a serious condition, or is it a normal response to a cold?

Neutrophilic leucocytosis with high lymphocytes and wet cough suggests an active infection, which is possibly viral or bacterial. Not usually serious, but needs antibiotics if bacterial.
