My grandpa's been having a tough time with a serious mucus issue lately. It's like every day he's struggling to spit it out. And recently, the coughing and spitting seem to have ramped up even more. He's on some meds and using a pof blower, but it's not really doing the trick. Do you have any idea what might help?

View allI've recently been diagnosed with bronchitis and had this persistent cough with thick phlegm. The doctor gave me some meds, and I'm feeling better now, but he suggested doing a PFT test if possible. Now, I'm wondering if it makes sense to just do the PFT test on its own, or should I also get a chest X-ray with it? Or maybe a CT scan of the chest would give clearer results? I'd love some guidance on what's best to do next.
Chest x-ray with pft is advised to the patient.
