My heels have been really hurting and the X-ray shows heel spurs. Do I need surgery for this or are there other treatment options?

Heel spurs are not typically treated surgically unless nonsurgical methods fail to relieve pain after a significant period, usually 9-12 months. Most people find relief from heel pain with non-surgical treatments like stretching, shoe inserts, and physical therapy

My 95-year-old grandfather has had severe knee pain for 15 years, and sometimes his joints lock up so badly he can't stand. Surgery isn't an option at his age are there any other treatments that could help ease his pain?

For a 95-year-old with severe knee pain and locking, focusing on pain management and improving function is crucial. Options include: Pain Management: Medications: Over-the-counter pain relievers (like acetaminophen or ibuprofen) and, if necessary, stronger pain medications under a doctor's supervision can help manage pain. Topical treatments: Creams or gels containing NSAIDs can provide targeted pain relief. Cold and Heat Therapy: Applying ice for short periods (15-20 minutes) can reduce inflammation and pain, while heat can help relax muscles. Injections: Corticosteroid injections into the knee joint can temporarily reduce inflammation and pain.

I'm dealing with a bit of an issue with my finger after catching a cricket ball. My x-ray came back normal, but there's still a little pain. I also feel some movement in the proximal phalange when I press on the joint. Should I be worried about this, or will it heal on its own? Any idea how long it might take to recover?

if the xray Is normal, then there might be a soft tissue injury. take rest and apply a ice pack. take a pain killer. it will be alright within a few days. regards
