My lab report shows that on the first day, my platelet count was 1,48,000, and on the next day, it dropped to 1,22,000. I am concerned about what this decrease means?

A drop in platelet count from 1.48 lakh to 1.22 lakh could be due to infection, lab variability, or hydration status. As long as the count is above 1 lakh and there are no signs of bleeding or bruising, it is generally not alarming. Repeat test in a few days to confirm trend.

View allMy 5 years 4 months old daughter, weighing 19 kg, has been having fever. We visited the hospital and the doctor advised CALPAL if fever is more than 101F and MEFTHAL P if more than 101F, and asked us to revisit after 2 days if the fever persisted. The fever has been on and off with medicine. We consulted the doctor again. She prescribed an antibiotic syrup (ZIPRAX 100) and suggested a CBC test. The results are mostly normal, but the platelet count is 1.20 L/mm (I understand the normal range should be 1.5 to 4 L/mm). Today, my daughter is also feeling dull. What should be done?
