My lower jaw is slightly extended and the doctor recommended orthognathic surgery but started with braces first. Will I still need surgery if braces correct the issue and why do they use braces before surgery anyway?

View allI'm a 25-year-old guy with an overbite and class 2 malocclusion is jaw surgery the only option for fixing this or are there safer alternatives? I'm a bit worried about the risks of surgery and wondering if braces or other treatments could work instead
While jaw surgery can be an option for correcting severe overbites and Class II malocclusion, it's not always the only solution. Braces and other orthodontic treatments can often be effective for milder cases, and in some situations, a combination of orthodontics and functional appliances (like headgear) might be used

My dentist said I have Class III malocclusion after checking my side profile and bite. Can braces alone fix this or will I need surgery? What are the risks of getting this surgery done in India? It's hard to find any personal stories or reviews from people who've had this procedure here.

What's the average cost for teeth alignment options like regular braces, invisible braces, or surgery and which one would give the best results for my situation
The cost for teeth alignment options varies greatly based on the type of braces, the complexity of your case, and the location of the orthodontist. Traditional braces (metal or ceramic) typically cost between ‚Çπ30,000 and ‚Çπ80,000, while invisible aligners (like Invisalign) can range from ‚Çπ69,999 to ‚Çπ3,50,000 . Orthodontic surgery, if needed, can be significantly more expensive. The best option for you will depend on your specific needs and a consultation with an orthodontist
