My myopia is at -7 and keeps getting worse, plus I'm seeing these floaters everywhere. Should I be worried about this? Do I need surgery or is there another way to manage it?

Should you worry about flashes and floaters? Both are very common, especially in older people, and more often than not they are nothing to worry about. If they are bothersome, dark glasses have been found to minimise the presence of floaters and you can discuss options with your optometrist.

View allI have a squint in my right eye and I'm considering surgery how effective is it and what's the recovery like? Are there any risks I should know about?
Squint surgery, also known as strabismus surgery, is generally effective in correcting eye misalignment, with most patients seeing significant improvement in their eye alignment. Recovery typically takes a few weeks, with most people returning to normal activities within that time, although complete healing and final alignment can take several weeks or even months. While generally safe, there are some potential risks, including temporary side effects like mild discomfort, redness, or double vision, and in rare cases, more serious complications like infection or vision impairment.

My cousin has a mild squint in her right eye less than 5 degrees. Her local doctor said surgery isn't needed for such a small angle, but I'm curious if there are other ways to fix or improve it. What options are out there besides surgery?
