I visited my general physician, who said it is likely viral. However, I recently came into close contact with someone who had a cold, although they are fine now. Do I need to get tested? Please advise. I am fully vaccinated and have previously recovered from COVID19.

My father tested COVID 19 positive on 26 July (sample taken on 23 July). After home isolation and treatment, he was retested on 12 August, and the report came today (13 August). The interpretation says 2019 nCoV negative, but I am confused about the MS2 gene detected part. Is he still contagious? Does he need to continue home isolation for a few more days?

After 14 to 17 days and a negative report, youre non infectious. Continue resting, hydrate well, and eat nutritious food. Mild symptoms like leg pain and taste/smell loss can take 2 to 6 weeks to resolve. No specific meds needed unless symptoms worsen.
