My TSH is 16.1, but my T3 (1.31) and T4 (8.02) are within the normal range. Surprisingly, I am underweight at 56.5 kg with a height of 172 cm. The other symptoms of hypothyroidism also do not match the high TSH results, whereas symptoms of hyperthyroidism such as tachycardia, anxiety, and sleeplessness are seen. I am confused. What should be inferred here, please?

Your TSH is elevated (16.1), but T3 and T4 are normal this is commonly seen in subclinical hypothyroidism. However, your symptoms (like tachycardia and anxiety) are more hyperthyroid like. Id advise repeating TSH along with anti TPO antibodies to clarify autoimmune thyroiditis.

I take 50 mcg/day thyroxine sodium tablets. My recent test report shows T3 1.06 ng/ml (normal range 0.6 to 1.81), T4 9.90 microgram/dL (normal range 3.2 to 12.6), and TSH 8.01 microIU/mL (normal range 0.35 to 5.5). The test was done according to CLIA. Should there be any change in the dose of thyroxine?
