Question
My TSH level in the recent report is 4.86. I would like to know if this means I have hypothyroidism. Also, should I go for a retest to confirm the result?
Answered by 1 Apollo Doctors
A TSH of 4.86 is slightly above normal. It may suggest mild hypothyroidism, but this is not confirmed unless Free T3 and T4 are also low. Retesting in 4 to 6 weeks is helpful to see the trend before starting medication.

Take a Thyroid - Free FT3, FT4 & TSH Test Test or Take a THYROID PEROXIDASE ANTIBODIES (ANTI MICROSOMAL ANTIBODIES) Test
