My uncle has bowel cancer and his doctors said surgery isn't an option because he's not strong enough. He's getting worse every day and I'm really worried how can I send you his test results for a second opinion? What other treatment options might help him?

If surgery not an option, chemo, radiation, or palliative care can help manage bowel cancer; share test reports for second opinion with oncologist.

How do cancers start?

The cause of cancer is multifactorial such as genetics, environmental and lifestyle. Cancer develops when the body's normal control mechanism stops working. Old cells do not die and instead grow out of control, forming new abnormal cells which may form a mass of tissue called a tumor.

I'm really concerned about the situation with my lung nodules. Back in 2018, I had a left radical nephrectomy because of CCRCC, and they found a small lung nodule later that year. Then, in 2019, the CT thorax showed there were multiple nodules, with the largest being 3.5mm. By October 2019, another CT revealed that the largest nodule had grown to 7.5mm, and the distribution had changed as well. This is all being managed at TMC Mumbai, but I'm worried about whether the increase in size is something to worry about. Can you shed some light on this for me?

yes you should worry, consult a pulmonologist

My relative is 58 and was diagnosed with breast cancer with supraclavicular lymph node involvement about 20 days ago. She's had an FNAC report and PET scan done. What's the best therapy for her should she start with chemo first or is surgery the better initial option? What are the most effective treatments available?

For breast cancer with supraclavicular lymph node involvement, a multi-modal approach combining surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy is often the most effective treatment. The order of treatments can vary, but chemotherapy is frequently given before surgery to shrink the tumor and reduce the spread of cancer
