My wife was told she might need an appendectomy, and the doctor recommended laparoscopy as the better option. Can you tell me how much the surgery usually costs and how long the recovery typically takes?

I've been dealing with a perianal abscess, and my ultrasound confirmed it. The doctors are saying I should have surgery, and I'm really anxious about any potential long-term effects it could have. Is surgery the only option here, or are there any alternatives I could consider? I'd really appreciate some guidance on this.

I'm really concerned about my recovery after having perianal abscess surgery on November 30th. It's been 8 days now, and I'm still seeing pus discharge; plus, there's a bit of pain after I have a bowel movement. I've been using Livoluk as a stool softener and doing sitz baths three times a day to help. Do you have any idea how much longer I might need to continue the wound dressing and how long it'll take for everything to fully heal up? I'm in the IT field and eager to know when I might be able to return to work. Any advice would be great.

Had anal fistula surgery on 5th Oct 2020 and have a desk job. The wound isn't fully healed yet but there's no pain or discomfort. Is it okay to sit for long hours or resume work?

It is important that patients are able to rest for several days following the surgical procedure. During this time, they should allow their bodies to recover, and avoid sitting or walking for too long. Many people find it more comfortable to wear loose-fitting clothes during the recovery period.
