Question
She was diagnosed with hypothyroidism 2 years ago. She was prescribed to take Thyronorm 50 and was advised not to stop it. However, now her T3 and T4 levels are within the reference range. Today she had palpitations with quite a lot of sweat. She says she feels better if she does not take the prescribed tablet but she is afraid too. Please let me know what needs to be done. Attached are the last blood test reports.

If she is having palpitations and sweating, it may indicate that the thyronorm dose needs adjustment. Normal T3 and T4 with symptoms may be due to TSH being low or borderline low. Do not stop medication on your own; consult her doctor to recheck thyroid levels. A Thyroid Profile (TSH, T3, T4) should be repeated to guide dose adjustment. Avoid excess caffeine and monitor symptoms until review.

Take a Thyroid Profile (T3 T4 TSH) Test Test or Take a THYROID PEROXIDASE ANTIBODIES (ANTI MICROSOMAL ANTIBODIES) Test
