So, I had a tympanoplasty type 1 ear surgery back on May 10, 2018, and my doctor removed some gel forms on June 5, but mentioned there's still a bit left on my eardrum. They can't clear it yet 'cause the doc's on leave, and advised me to use otocin o ear drops, four drops daily, until then. My worry is, when I put the ear drops in before bed, they don't seem to drain properly. Even after sleeping for 7 to 8 hours, the drops just come out when I wake up. Is it okay for the medicine to stay in my ear for that long, or should I be worried about how they're not draining? How long are ear drops typically supposed to stay in the ear anyway?

View allI'm wondering if it's safe to use hydrogen peroxide to clean my ears, especially if an insect accidentally crawled in while I was sleeping. Is hydrogen peroxide effective and safe for removing insects from the ear? Im a bit worried and would love some guidance on this.
Hydrogen peroxide is a chemical and best to AVOID using it to clean ears. It can damage ear canal skin and cause inflammation.

I'm really worried about this ongoing issue I've been having. It all started with just one nostril being stuffy, and I thought it was just a regular flu or runny nose, so I didn't pay much attention and took some over-the-counter meds. But here I am, 9 months later, and it's still not better. Now I've got these headaches around my forehead and the back of my head, and the mucus drainage smells really badnot like the usual kind. Plus, every time I try to clear my nose, I feel this pressure in my ears, which even causes me to cough. I haven't seen a doctor yet, but from what I've looked up, I'm suspecting it's some kind of sinus infection. What should I do?
It sounds like you may be dealing with a chronic sinus infection, given the persistent symptoms of nasal congestion, foul-smelling mucus, headaches, and ear pressure. It's important to see a doctor, ideally an ENT specialist, for a thorough evaluation and to discuss possible treatments such as antibiotics or nasal irrigation to help clear the infection.

There's a big hole in one of my tonsils with a white film on top, it's uncomfortable but not sore. The other tonsil looks fine. What could this be, and should I be worried about it?
