A thin fish bone got stuck in my throat three days ago, and I'm not sure if it's still there or if it came out. If it's still stuck, could it cause an infection? How can I safely remove it? I'm really worried about this.

Persistent sore throat can be frustrating!

Consider the following:

  1. Prolonged antibiotic course: Clavam 625 might need to be taken for a longer duration. Consult your doctor about extending the course.
  2. Alternative antibiotics: If the current antibiotic isn't effective, your doctor might prescribe an alternative.
  3. Throat swab culture: A throat swab culture can help identify the underlying cause of the sore throat.
  4. ENT specialist consultation: Consider consulting an ENT specialist for a thorough examination and guidance.

Additional remedies:

  1. Saltwater gargles: Mix 14 teaspoon of salt in 8 ounces of warm water and gargle several times a day.
  2. Throat lozenges: Suck on lozenges to keep your throat moist and soothe the pain.
  3. Warm liquids: Drink warm liquids like tea or broth to help soothe the throat.
  4. Humidifier: Use a humidifier to add moisture to the air, which can help reduce throat irritation.

When to seek immediate medical attention:

  1. Difficulty swallowing
  2. Severe throat pain
  3. Fever over 101.5F (38.6C)
  4. Shortness of breath

I'm waking up every morning with a sore throat, and I notice white mucus, plus my mouth and lips feel really dry. On top of that, I'm getting pain in my teeth and jaw, and feeling fatigued, with headaches sometimes. What could be causing all these symptoms?

May indicate symptoms of a possible sinus infection or post-nasal drip. I recommend taking an over-the-counter antihistamine like Claritin (loratadine) 10mg once daily to help with the mucus production and throat irritation. Additionally, you can use a saline nasal spray to help moisturize your nasal passages and relieve dryness. For the pain in your teeth and jaw, you can take ibuprofen (Advil) 400mg every 6-8 hours as needed for pain relief. Make sure to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day and get adequate rest to help with fatigue. If symptoms persist or worsen, it is advisable to consult a healthcare professional for further evaluation and management.

I'm dealing with some discomfort and am hoping for some advice. About a week ago, I had a canker sore on my right tonsil and I took azithromycin and flexon, which seemed to clear it up. But now I have this persistent acid reflux and my right ear hurts with some swelling in my throat right under the ear. I'm still using flexon for the pain, but Im worried about what's causing all this. Can you help me understand what's going on and how to get some relief?

See a specialist for accurate diagnosis and targeted treatment.
