What are the main things that can cause pleural effusion and how do exudate and transudate differ? Can you share more details on this?

View allI'm really worried about this pleural empyema situation. If there's a 100ml buildup, do antibiotics alone help clear it up, or would it definitely need to be drained? I've heard different things and I'm not sure what to expect.

I recently got an HRCT scan of my chest, and the results showed minimal ground glass haziness in the posterior parts of both lungs, especially in the dependent zones. It also mentioned some small lymph nodes near the trachea and a few other places. I'm trying to understand what all this means. Should I be worried?
minimal haziness and small lymph nodes, especially if not associated with other symptoms, often do not indicate serious problems but should still be monitored. If you have any chronic symptoms (like a cough, difficulty breathing, fever, or weight loss), or if the doctor suggests any follow-up, its important to follow their advice closely.

My husband finished 6 months of medication for mediastinal lymph node TB, and I've attached his reports. Originally, his node was 7cm by 3cm. During this period, he gained 9kg, and while he used to have a fever, thats gone now and his cough is a bit better. But he still coughs around 30 times a day, and I'm counting each one. Could it be something serious like cancer since his cough hasn't completely cleared up yet?
Pulmonologist opinion is advised to the patient.
