View allHad anal fistula surgery on 5th Oct 2020 and have a desk job. The wound isn't fully healed yet but there's no pain or discomfort. Is it okay to sit for long hours or resume work?
It is important that patients are able to rest for several days following the surgical procedure. During this time, they should allow their bodies to recover, and avoid sitting or walking for too long. Many people find it more comfortable to wear loose-fitting clothes during the recovery period.

My dad is 65 and has COPD from smoking and exposure to harmful gases for 15 years. He also has a hernia we know COPD isn't curable, but is it safe for him to have hernia surgery now given his condition?
It's understandable to be concerned about hernia surgery in someone with COPD. While COPD itself isn't curable, a hernia surgery can be safe if the patient's lung function is within acceptable limits and proper management is in place.
