What can I take to manage hernia pain at home since I can't get surgery right now? It's really uncomfortable and I need some relief
Answered by 1 Apollo Doctors
Hernia pain can be managed temporarily with rest, abdominal binders, and analgesics, but surgery is the only definitive treatment.

View allI had kshar sutra surgery for a pilonidal cyst back in August and the wound has healed but sometimes it gets painful and swollen. Is there any topical ointment that can help reduce the swelling?
Topical steroid ointments (like mometasone) may reduce swelling post-Kshar Sutra surgery;consult your surgeon before applying to the tract.

I was recently diagnosed with an intersphincteric fistula tract and have surgery scheduled for next Friday. I'm a bit nervous and wondering what type of anesthesia is usually given during a fistulectomy procedure
Spinal anaesthesia will be given during surgery. You will feel a small pin-prick in your back. The surgery will take 20-30 minutes only. Don't worry!
