The T4 blood test measures the level of thyroxine, a hormone produced by the thyroid gland, which plays a vital role in metabolism, energy regulation, and overall bodily functions. The T4 normal range for adults typically falls between 5.0 to 12.0 micrograms per deciliter (mcg/dL) for total T4 and 0.8 to 2.8 nanograms per deciliter (ng/dL) for free T4. Abnormal T4 levels can indicate thyroid disorders. Higher levels may suggest hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid), while lower levels may point to hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid). The thyroid T4 normal range is an essential parameter for diagnosing and managing thyroid-related conditions.

View allI have been having thyroid problems for more than two years and that is why I am facing so much pain in my arms and legs. This pain has been going on for more than two years. I have consulted a few physicians and orthopaedic doctors but still have so much pain that I am not able to stand for more than an hour and cannot walk much. My blood report is normal and my weight is not high. Since the thyroid problem was identified, digestive process has become very poor.

She was diagnosed with hypothyroidism 2 years ago. She was prescribed to take Thyronorm 50 and was advised not to stop it. However, now her T3 and T4 levels are within the reference range. Today she had palpitations with quite a lot of sweat. She says she feels better if she does not take the prescribed tablet but she is afraid too. Please let me know what needs to be done. Attached are the last blood test reports.

I did my thyroid test last week for the first time because my body weight is not reducing even after hard exercise. My blood test shows T3 and T4 are normal, but TSH level is increased to 21. How can I reduce it?
