I've tested positive for Herpes 1, with an igg level of 18 COI, which seems really high to me. I've already done a 7-day course of Acyclovir, but my results haven't changed at all. I'm starting to worry because I've heard there's no cure for Herpes type 1. Can you help me understand why my levels are so high even after treatment, and is there anything else I can do?

A positive herpes simplex virus (HSV) IgG result with a COI of 18 indicates a past exposure to the virus, as IgG antibodies typically appear after the initial infection. While there's no cure for herpes, antiviral medications like acyclovir can help manage symptoms and reduce the frequency of outbreaks. If your symptoms persist, consider consulting your healthcare provider for further guidance.

I'm dealing with this dry and rough skin issue on my back, right around my spine. The rough patches are starting to spread out over more of my back, and it gets really itchy if I don't apply any skin cream like Fourderm. What's going on, and should I be worried about it spreading further?

That could be fungal infection which needs both oral and topical antifungal medications and personal hygiene is more important for such condition.
